“Be Great” PROCLAMATION CELEBRATION

On April 27th, LLC Rise Above The Violence, Inc. invite the community to join with Mayor Alfin as he issues a proclamation recognizing, my son, Curtis Israel Gray, and his message of “Be Great” to earmark an annual holiday to commemorate his life and legacy.  Curtis was a student athlete who used his platform of influence to began a peer-to-peer support group to encourage students of all walks to “be great” by taking care of their mental health.  His stand for positive mental health and drug use prevention was recognized by 4 Government Agencies and as a result he received the prestigious 2019 Champ Award for his community efforts.

The 2024 Proclamation sends a clear message of hope and a promise to “Be Great” as we stand against violence in all forms and create a safer environment for our youth.
